Hello, I have installed DNN with the newest Wiki modl. I have connected our AD with the site and it is Authenticating. While building the Wiki we are looking for a way of restricting users and or groups from the AD from viewing or editing different pages in the Wiki.

In the end is there a way to connect the groups we have setup in our AD to groups within the wiki(creating new ones if needed)?

In the Wiki module you can restrict access to editing pages based on Security roles, like you can do with any module, but you can't restrict access to individual pages in the module. If you can view/edit on page, you can view/edit them all.

Chris,

First, thanks for the wiki module we have now. It's great, and easy to use. We all appreciate it enormously.

I'd like to make it a formal request for this, or similar, functionality to be added to the next update to the wiki module. I'm going to be forced to create multiple wiki's and create a "wiki menu" where some users will see only one entry, and other users will see 3 or 4 entries and have to keep jumping between them. And the only way to edit the wiki is to be allowed to edit the page - meaning users can add new modules, re-configure the wiki module so it doesn't work, etc., which is problematic. While we're at it... here would be my dream list:

1) Have settings for "view" and "edit" on a per-page basis based on DNN's roles/groups (not everyone with DNN has a windows domain - ours is a stand-alone server) - just like for the parent page but applied to wiki pages.

2) In the module settings have a master, or default, list of "wiki editors" based on DNN roles/groups.

3) Wiki Editors shouldn't see administrator buttons for "module" and "page", nor should they enter the administrator's "edit" mode where they can see the module's "manage" button. They should just be able to add or edit a wiki page.

4) Since many sites may have created multiple wiki's to get around not being able to to set access restrictions on a per-page basis - it would be awesome if there was an "import" functionality in the module settings so an administrator can can import from the other wiki's and have all the imported wiki pages inherit the access restrictions of the original parent page (i.e. be able to combine the other wiki's back into one with accesses intact).

Thanks again for all the great work
-Rick
