Hello,

I have upgraded my website to DNN 6.1.3 and wanted to upgrade my Events module to the latest version. The recommended version on the Extensions page was 6.0.2 so I upgraded the module to version 6.0.2. However, when I try to add the module to a page I get the following error

Error: Events is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Web.UI, Version=2011.2.915.35, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=121fae78165ba3d4' or one of its dependencies. The Telerik.Web.UI.dll Version in my bin folder is 2011.3.1115.35. After changing the version in my web.config to 2011.3.1115.35, I still get this error.

I found the  Telerik.Web.UI.dll Version=2011.2.915.35 version in one of the DNN Upgrade packages and replaced it in my bin folder as well as changed the web.config to which my site crashed completely. It seems to me that the module is looking for a specific dll version however when I replace it in my bin folder, my website crashes.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks much
Mel

Hi Mel,

I've just tried 6.0.2 against DNN 6.1.2 (I don't have a ready installed 6.1.3 to hand), it works fine on there. It is using Telerik 2011.2.915.35. Not sure that proves anything though.

I can see at least with 6.0.4 that it isn't bound to a specific problem, so I would install that in place of 6.0.4. I find it strange that you had to edit web.config, I've never had to do that after a DNN upgrade to set the right telerik version.

Cheers
Roger

not all upgrades of DNN include upgrade of Telerik.dll. If you are going to upgrade version of Telerik.dll, you'll have to adjust redirect setting in web.config to the new version as well.

Well, I have never had to do it before either. I have recently been having a lot of problems with the Telerik Editor especially when it comes to the dlls.

If I change the Redirect setting in web.config to 2011.2.315.35 and replace the dlls in the bin as well as the Module folder, I get an unhandled error message and I cannot access my website.

If I use 2011.3.1115.35 dlls and change the Redirect setting to 2011.3.1115.35, the events modules throws the error I get above.

At this point, I don't know what I need to do. Please help!

Thanks
Mel
