Hi Gilles

How about "mart", "exchange", "outlet" or - our favourite - "emporium"?

The DotNetNuke Emporium Module!

Sounds different, substantial and memorable, don't you think?

Kind regards

Geoffrey

Hi Goeffrey,

Thanks for your suggestions! Believe it or not, but the current project name of the next major version is... Emporium! :-)

Because I'm not English native (I'm French), I searched a lot of synonym in online dictionaries and found Emporium, I agree that it sounds great. Even if the name is not commonly used in the USA, I have found several pictures of old market places with this name. Moreover, it's a European name, it was the ancient river port of Rome (Italy), the name comes from the Greek "Emporion" which means a place of business.

My other options was:

- DotNetNuke Sell (or Sells)
- DotNetNuke Retail

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles

Emporium is much better. In English it carries a wonderful and old-fashioned flavor to it, as illustrated by the title of the film "Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium " (sadly, not such a good movie).

But you might well enjoy the series of films on YouTube called "Barging Through France" which visits many magnificent French "Emporiums".

Nothing "sticks to the mind" quite like paradox and using an old name for a new technology would make this module title unforgettable.

Good luck

Geoffrey

PS do you have any idea how many eCommerce sites use the present Store module?

Hi Gilles

My wife has just reminded that Harrods, perhaps the most prestigious and well-known store in London, calls itself an Emporium.

 Kind regards

Geoffrey
