Hello,

How can I find out more about this error?
In my web.config, I changed:
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" />  to  <customErrors mode="Off" />

Last Friday I shut my pc down but it froze, I was working on my own custom skin so it may have something to do with that I also had a custom module open but that has not even been added to the extensions yet.

Thanks,
Jeff

Well I figured I would simply start over from scratch so I deleted my database (hosted on our SQL Server) and installed a fresh copy of DNN 6_02_05. During install I get this:

An error has occurred.DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.GetSkin(PageBase page) at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Jeff,

Did you also start with a completely fresh install of DNN? I've had a few weird things happen during installations and they were corrected by starting fresh and with everything named something different.

For example, if you originally installed in a folder called "DNN60205", don't use that again. Instead, create a new folder called "DNN60205v2" and install there. Same for your database name.

Try that and let us know if it works.

Thanks Mark,
I have tried everything under the sun! No luck. Deleted everything and started fresh using different names for everything. I'm following Chris Hammond's video: Installing DotNetNuke 6 on Windows 7 with SQL 2008 on YouTube. It worked before. The difference between his setup and mind is I'm using the SQL 2008 on our server at work and he's has it installed locally. I think I will put this project on hold till the next release.
