Hello Everybody,

Is it possible to use different database for different portal. If yes then if i install any module then can i use that module for all the portals.how do we decide that which module should go in which database.PLease let me the advantages and disadvantages , if we can use different database for different portal.
Please response me asap.

I think if you want to use a different database for every portal you will just have to install DNN twice (or more).
And you'll have to reinstall the modules too.

Hello ashinaidu

I wanted to create child portals and my hosting provider informed me that in order to have child portals I must create a new database and install a new site for each new child portal. Which meant that I needed to reinstall DNN skins and modules, what a pain.

Normally you can host child portals on the same database \ installation
Strange advice from your hosting provider
