I tried to upgrade from DNN 6.2.5 to DNN7.0 but dotnetnuke do not start after the upgrade. I am running .net 4.0 and SQL 2008R2.

I got the following error message:

DotNetNuke Error

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.get_Status() at DotNetNuke.HttpModules.RewriterUtils.OmitFromRewriteProcessing(String localPath) at DotNetNuke.HttpModules.RequestFilter.RequestFilterModule.FilterRequest(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.HttpApplication.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously)

Is the instance installed on a Windows Server 2008 or above?

Did you use the Upgrade Package of DNN 7.0 ?

Matthias,

To be sure I checked with my web hosting provider regarding the windows version. They informed me that they are running a Windows Server 2008 R2.

So what shall I do to get DNN 7.0 to be up running?

Best regards,

Rune

I hope .NET 4.0 is installed and configured for your hosting. Be shure all your installed modules are support DNN 7.0.

Restore to 6.2.5 and retry the upgrade with the DNN 7.0 upgrade package.
