I assume that to create a new site, I have to create a new portal. Is this correct? My first attempt at a new site was created in the installation's existing portal. The content of this portal has the Getting Started page, which, of course, I don't want. I have gone through the steps of creating an alias and creating a new portal but I can seem to a) figure out how to change to the new portal b) figure out if the reason I can't change is because I haven't successfully created a new portal. What am I missing.

The base install of DNN has the parent, or root portal. You can edit and use that. Just delete the default pages from the install and create the pages you want.

That is what I did but . . .

1.) What happens to the Getting Started page if I were to publish the site?

2) When I go to edit the skin (I want to change an image in the banner) all the coding seems to be for the Bike site.
