I'm installing on Win8 64bit with SQL Server Express 2012. Everything seemed to be going fine, but I've been hanging on the above step for about a half hour now (installation clock is at 34:32 currently.) See Logs and Retry are both greyed out. Any ideas on what the problem could be, and how to resolve it?

I'm not sure what the issue was, but when it passed the 60 minute mark I refreshed the page to let the installation start over. It went to finished within about 15 seconds and the test site appears to be working fine so far.

Same problem here. I'm installing DNN 7 and It's seems to be hanging at 90% (Creating SuperUser). Currently it's at the 30 minute mark. If it goes past an hour, I'll try the refresh.

By the way, I'm using Windows Server 2008R2, SQL 2008R2 and I specified my superuser account to be something other than the default "host".

Got impatient and clicked refresh just after 30 mins. Installed fine.

Do you guys by any chance modify connection string within wizard? I had same problem when I set it up within wizard, installation would never finish. But once I set it manually within web.config it installed like a charm.
