I used SQL Server 2008 R2 management Studio version without any Issues. But I installed SQL Server 2012 management Studio (SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU). It needed Visual Studio SP1(VS10sp1-KB983509) and SQL Server 2005 Sp4 (SQLServer2005SP4-KB2463332-x64-ENU) I installed it. But I have not installed Sql Server 2005 in my machine. But installed Sql Server 2005 SP4 since it wanted to complete the installation of Sql Server 2012. Once I completed the installations, new SQL server 2012 it worked remote login for other servers. i am working on Windows 7 with SP1

My problem is I can not access my previous databases what I installed in the localhost. That mean It is not allowing me to login to ".\sqlexpress" like before. All my local DotNetNuke databases were there.

Please can you  advise me to find the exact issue and I need a solution from one of your experts. It would be a great support if you can help. I am struggling and wasting too much time now.

I am getting this error.

I can not browse sqlexpress localhost databases now through both 2008R2 and 2012 version. Please help.

Ok Thanks! fixed myself.

Re-installed sqlexpress and enabled "SQL Server Browser" when installing. It is disabled by default. However I missed all my all my datbases.

But it did bring me back sqlexpress.
