I am trying to hide all the contents and just show a message if the user is trying to access a private group using the url. So, I am trying to find if the user belongs to a group or not programatically.

Basically, when a user is logged in and tries to access a group(private group) by entering the url in the browser, the page should recognize that the user  is not a member of the group and show error message. Any suggestions on how to do this?

 Thanks in advance.
