Hi,

I'm sorry in advance if this question is dumb, but I'm new to all this.  I am trying to load DNN on GoDaddy (I have followed the instructions in the GoDaddy post), and I am getting an error.  I think I got the connection string right so I'm not sure what I did wrong.  The error says "Upgrade Error" but this is a new install.  I would appreciate any help you all could offer.

Here is the error

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

Hey Poker,

I had this problem when first trying to install DNN. The easiest workaround I found is deleting your current DB, and recreate a new one.

Change your DB settings in the web.config to reflect the new DB address.

I hope this helps. I am a bit of a newb still myself :)

I'll give that a try.

Thanks.
