FYI, there is a new beta of Active Forums that has the "What's New" module added back in.

Thanks Jason but I have dumped AF. The features that have been removed and the bugs just does not cut it for me. I do not understand how going UP in version number a module could loose so much functionality.

I have decided to move over to Yet Another Forum the DNN version. Took a bit to get it to install but once I understood the install procedure it works GREAT. Has all the features that were stripped out of the 4.x AF version plus more. THIS is the forum that should be made the official version of DNN IMO. The DNN core people should talk to the devs of the YAF module and work with them rather then reinventing the wheel.

Unfortunately I've been experiencing the same issues with Active Forums.

Until the bugs are fixed I'd have to go with another option.

YAF looks like a great forum module.

However, I have 2 problems with it.

1) No native social integration (at least last time I checked)
2) No way to convert from other forum modules.

#2 is not an issue for some people, but it is for me because I have an AF install with over 100,000 messages that I don't want to lose.

I agree that AF 5 still needs some work. I've recently started contributing to the project, and I've fixed some bugs and added back some features, but there is a lot of stuff that still needs to get done.
