Not sure if this helps narrow things down or not, but also now when I create a new page I am unable to access it from the navigation menu.

If I put in the actual URL to the page then it pulls up fine and/or if I access it through the page management module.

I have tried to check my permission settings in IIS and am just not seeing where I have things incorrect.

Any assistance in getting this figured out would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I experienced the same issue. I'll try to add more information. I have a couple of sites in DNN6 which I updated to DNN7 without problem. Control bar works well. But when I made a new site this error occurs! So I got into this post. Then I compared web.config files from a DNN6 updated site with a DNN7 new one and I've seen a difference that makes me success.

I don't know if it will work for everyone but it works in my case, a least inserting modules or editing pages, that was impossible before.

This worked for me on a fresh 07.00.05 install.

I am using DNN 7.00.05 - switching to the control bar took care of some of the issues - but as others are reporting I am still having the problem.  I get the authentication message when I try to move a module on the page (up or down or to another content pane) or upload via the pop-up - such as adding the favico.ico.  I can upload via file manager to get around the using the pop-up error.  But I cannot get around the issue of moving containers.  I have to delete and re-add *** this is a major issue for the end users ***.

I saw some posts where they made changes to the web.config - but I am not clear what they did to correct this problem. - can someone share some more detail.

I hope this gets fixed soon as it makes 7.00.05 unusable for end users.

Judy

Hi Judy, try to make following changes in your web.config and tell us if it works:

<modules>
...
< remove name="FormsAuthentication" />
< add name="FormsAuthentication" type="System.Web.Security.FormsAuthenticationModule" preCondition="" />
...
< /modules>
