Hi all,

Confused about something... Running 6.1.4. Sometimes I set pages to redirect to a pdf. This usually works out fine, but I've just uploaded a pdf, added a page, and redirected.... and gotten:

Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

Client sent malformed Host header

If I remove the redirect, the page will generate just fine. Also, If I redirect to an old pdf, THAT works fine also. So, I'm think the issue is the pdf file. However, It will open just fine in Adobe Reader. It was originally a word docx that I saved as a pdf. I tried resaving it with a different name from Reader, but that version won't work on my site either... what am I missing here? Thanks for the help!

Jesse,

does it work when you link to this PDF file from a Links or Text/HTML module, with or without opening a new window?

Best wishes
Michael

Thank you, Michael,

When I link to it from an HTML module, I get the same error message. So, I really think the problem is with the document itself, but why? I've saved it using different pieces of software and re-uploaded it several times but no go. Again, it opens fine in Reader. Any thoughts? I'm going to do an experiment and save another word docx as a pdf, then see if I can upload and link to it. This will have to wait until Monday, though. Any additional thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Well, I got it to work... I think the reason it would not display is that the file name had an ambersand in it. At least this is my guess. After changing the name, the file generated. Thanks for the help...

Jesse,

an ampersand in the file name is a good explanation, as this character is normally used in the query string to separate parameter values. Of course, this confused the request.

On the other hand, this is an error that I did not think of as a possibility in my reply...

Best wishes
Michael
