Hi all

i don't know if this available or there is a work around can someone please suggest?

what I would like to do allow users to select a group to belong too at the time of registration rather than the administrator have to add them to a group at a later date

what we would like to do is have our users select a group to belong so that we can send targeted emails

so we would have something like group 1 group 2 group 3 as well as the default .  So when sending newsletters group 1 would only get specific emails relating to that group plus the default rather than all emails included in the other2 groups

thanks

pat

Hi Pat,

I know that the free module 'dnnwerk Users' ( http://dnnusers.codeplex.com/ ) has the option to select a role to add automatically after successful submission.

It has a fully working registration mode and ff you are a developer perhaps you could use that as a starting place and tweak the code to put the role selection field in the registration page rather than the administration page and let the user select.

I have used that on my site myself to create a more tailored registration form/process than the default one.

Hope that helps.

Jacqui.

Jacqui.
