Hello,

Is the option "Enable Content Localization" affecting the whole DNN instance or only the current portal?I guess it's affected in some way because the option "Allow Content Localization" is inside "Host Settings -> Other Settings", not on a Portal Level.

What I mean by affecting:

- could you have portals which are content localized and portals which are not content localized within the same instance?

- is it possible to have different default languages for a portals within 1 DNN instance where you have content localization enabled?

- generally how does this option affect the DNN instance? I know it's only doubling the pages/modules for portal where it's enabled content localization and clicked "localize content"

Hi,

Yes

- is it possible to have different default languages for a portals within 1 DNN instance where you have content localization enabled?

It's interesting question. When you create new portal you have only English - United States like sytem default language. In DNN 7.x you can define site default language. So the answer is yes.

- generally how does this option affect the DNN instance? I know it's only doubling the pages/modules for portal where it's enabled content localization and clicked "localize content"

In DNN 7.2 localization is much more flexible. You  can create localization instances for pages and modules or you can postpond it. Also you can create

This option affect in the way of redirection from one page locale to another during switching current language. 'Enable Localization'  makes page copies for each locale and link it to each other.

And changed the way how DNN is building menu as well. It hide in menu pages with different locale.

Best Regards,

Sergey Yuryev
