I'm currently researching options for a new intranet site and would like to get my ducks in a row before I submit ideas to director.

The current intranet site was built in 2004 using WebPartZones with WebParts (it is not written very well and extremely buggy) it has about 100 parts. Based on security settings users are able to add/remove certain parts. Once the part is added to their page they can drag/drop where they want.

The new site will need the same functionality but work better (example: http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/dock/examples/portalpage/defaultcs.aspx).

So main question is using DNN would we be able to have the user manage which modules are on their page and where they are located?

We currently use Telerik tools for other things so we could go down the path of the above link, but i'm trying to find a way to keep everything together and easily maintainable to decrease the daily workload on the IT department.

Any insight to solve this problem with DNN would be awesome.

Thanks,

 - Josh

DNN didn't have a selfservice Feature for users.  Perhaps this could be done with a customized module.  DNN is very open to create own code into modules.

Otherwise, you have to create own pages for the users and add them to his page as Editor.  He will then have Access to all site modules.
