Rick,

what I meant was doing both. Anyway, if the robot is not logged in (and normally they are not), it should prevent search engines from indexing the page.

Best wishes
Michael

I was a big supporter of AF when they were a commercial entity. Now however going from AF 4.x to the recent 'free' version is like one step forward 3 steps back. The features that have been removed is staggering all in the name of some kind of integration I am assuming.

That said, if you need a basic forum it will do. If you would like some advanced features of a modern day forum however I would suggest you look into the DNN version of Yet Another Forum. It is well rounded, great granular security and a ton of features AF does not have.

Thanks for your feedback. All in  all its just a simple forum for brain tumor patients. Their goal is not to be found by search engines that can potentially harm their jobs. Security is the most important feature, functionality not so much

Thanks

Go into your page settings and find the section for page header tags and paste this in:

That should do the trick as well -. as long as you are faithful enough to believe that all crawlers in the world will not ignore it. I think the best way to hide the page from crawlers is by page permission settings.

Best wishes
