Hi ,

We have DNN Community edition version 5.1 and 5.6, it is planned to migrate servers with web farm setup and UNC file storage/file server. I got into problem not able find right solutions.

Please help on queries: 1. Is Community Edition V5.1  and V5.6 supports web farm installation? 2.How to setup UNC file share service/server?

Thanks, Srini

Hello Srini. Welcome to the forums!

Although it requires some additional configuration to run, it is possible to host Community Edition in a web farm environment. The following wiki article should be able to help get you pointed in the right direction: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

I hope that helps. If you are exploring the possibility of hosting it externally, feel free to reach out to us.

It is not recommended to run a webfarm with the Community edition. The filebased caching provider is not fit for heavy loads.

Although not for CE, this video may provide some help: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/V...

Is this the same for DNN7?

If so what does "heavy loads" mean, 10's, 100's or 1000's of  concurrent users?

there are 3rd party caching providers, you may use while running DNN Platform (formerly called Community Edition) on a Webfarm.
