Hi All,
I asked over on the Linkedin Site where would be an appropriate place to announce a free "community edition" data warehouse and ETL subsystem for DNN. I was directed by Erik (nl.linkedin.com/in/erikvb/ ) that this place is acceptable and appropriate.

To explain what we have done. I am one of the top BI people in the world. I have been in IT 30 years and BI 21 years. We have built the best ETL tool for development of ETL subsystems. This is called SeETL. Often clients just use it in development and then use a name brand tool in production. For example SSIS on the MSFT platform. SeETL is free in development and it cuts the cost of ETL development in about half. Even when a name brand product is used.

We use DNN as our own portal and we host some DNN protals as well. So a part of our marketing efforts to get SeETL widely accepted all over the world as a free ETL development tool we built a small fragment of ETL and community edition data model for DNN. We use this ourselves just to look at page hits, downloads etc. All the normal stuff.

The sample as is draws about 200 DNN tables from three DNN sites, two of which host many portals. So there are 33 portals in our target data warehouse from three DNN sites. The three lots of data land into one staging area. The data is then mapped from the staging area to the target data warehouse as a sample.

Naturally, people who are using DNN stand to benefit from taking a look at all this because our ETL is far superior to SSIS. Also MSFT does not have data models for BI. They talked to us about these data models but there is no business relationship other than buy out that works for such data models.

The video about the GA package is linked below. We have released many videos that explain what it is we do.

Anyone in the DNN community can take this "freebie" and use it as they like to learn from. You can't put the SeETL ETL into production. That's all. If you want to learn from what we have done and use SeETL in development and use SSIS in production? That's great by us. But to put the SeETL ETL into production does carry a modest fee. You will halve your costs of ETL development even if you use SSIS in production because of the productivity benefits of SeETL.

If someone wants to emulate our ETL in SSIS and make that available they are most welcome to do so. That is their business.

Over time we will develop more code to be released in this "community edition".

This is a genuine effort to make BI off the back of DNN pervasively available and very inexpensive. I believe  that ISPs that host many DNN sites will have a keen interest in this idea. I also think that corporate that run large or many DNN sites who want to integrate DNN with other data in the data warehouse will have a keen interest in this.

We have established IBI on the "low cost provider" model so you only pay for what you use. You don't pay for "sales reps" to go around bothering people at IBI. We don't have "sales reps" and I think that is a good thing. I am the closest thing to a "sales rep" at IBI. And even though I am a great salesman? I am not doing a lot in that role at IBI. We are releasing the fastest cheapest way to build data warehouses. And we want our clients to be "our sales reps".

This is carphone warehouse...the worlds largest seller of mobile phones talking about how good we are.

These are testimonials from people who use SeETL.

We are proposing a new paradigm for business based on the abundance model and not the scarcity model. Most people are still thinking in scarcity model mode and therefore are always distrustful and thinking that "there must be a catch". There is no catch. We are here to transform the world of BI development to make BI pervasive in support of the abundance model of business.

Here is a video about that if you are interested.

And if, after all that? You want to watch the video about what is in our GA package and download the GA package because you would like to have a DNN data warehouse and want to check out what you can get for free? Here is that link as well.
