Hi

I have two dnn instances set up using shared forms authentication which works well. However, there are two user databases. I want both to share the same 'authentication' database but to have separate databases for content and pages.

I have been able to do this with a Lightswitch application with these settings:

<add name="AuthenticationDB" connectionString="Data Source=(local);Initial Catalog=Contrib2011;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=*****;Password=****" />

<membership defaultProvider="AspNetMembershipProvider">
      <providers>
        <clear />
        <add name="AspNetMembershipProvider" type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider" connectionStringName="AuthenticationDB" applicationName="Dotnetnuke" requiresUniqueEmail="false" requiresQuestionAndAnswer="false" />
      </providers>

The Lightswitch app has its own database but it uses a dotnetnuke database for shared forms authentication.

Does anyone know if its possible to configure DNN to allow this?

thanks

Gus

I don't know that this is going to be possible, at least not without customizing the authentication and membership providers

thanks Chris

 I suspected that would be the case.
