Hi all,

I don't know if anyone else has found this and knows a resolution. Any help would be appreciated as this has caused the wheels to fall off the train of some current development.

If you add attributes to an element and the attribute name has a hyphen in then the rich text editor replaces the elements opening and closing < > tags with their ASCII equivalent and completely erases the element closing tag . So when the output is written to page the element does not render as html but as text. See below for example.

HTML input:

<div data-testAttr="testData">Test content</div>

After saving rich text editor gives this:

&lt;div data-testAttr="testData"&gt;Test content

If the attribute name does not have a hyphen in it (dataTestAttr for example) then the opening and closing tags are not replaced. Replacing the attribute names is not an option as the html is being used by scripts that require the wc3 specification for data- attributes.

Any ideas or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated as currently it means no html can be input into the site in its required state.

J Healy

Follow up to help anyone else out. Bug report put in for this, present in 7.0.2, problem with the Telerik component, a workaround is to use the basic text editor and enter necessary mark-up that way. Hopefully it will be fixed in next release.

Hi John

A better option is to use this editor. http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/ It has continuous development lots more features, no issues with httml5 data-attributes etc.

On all my installs this is the first thing I install
