Dear community,

I'm new to Dotnetnuke. Here's my situation: I would like to move a running installtion from one server to another (the webhosting service has changed). Now, I successfully exported the MSSQL database and successfully imported it to the new server (database name, root directory etc has also changed). How can I manage to move the CMS from the old server to the new server so it keeps working like before? Is there a specific file that needs to be edited according to the new server?

I would check the web.config file one you transfer the httpdocs folder over to your new environment. If any part of that path has changed it will not work properly.

Specifically in the web.config you will probably have to update the SQL connection settings to connect to the new location and login credentials for your database.
If your site is still in the same http path e.g hasn't moved from http://example.com to http://example.com/DNN/ you should be OK.
You might also find http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/B... useful.
