Hi,

I have the AD auth module on my parent/root install of DNN but now need to add it to all child portals.

Do I need to check synchronize roles for every portal if I already have it on my parent install?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes, each portal is considered a different website and has it's own set of security roles.

Dan,

What if my goal is to just use the AD authenciation so I know the user for an intranet? I don't believe I'd ever need them to be a user in the sense that they'll make changes.

Thanks,
Mark

Then it is pretty easy, you just create the portal and activate the AD authentication.

Synchronizing roles is irrelevant if you are not using them in the portal.
