Hello, I'm using DNN 7.0.3 on IIS 8.0 server. Now I want to upgrade it to most recent version, but I don't want to do that straight away on the live version. So I've copied the entire DNN directory to another place, copied the SQL database, set up connection to the new database and in IIS created an entirely new site (with separate App Pool) for that copy. Everything seems to work fine, I've made some changes on the development copy which do not show up on the live version so I'm sure the site is using correct database and so on (I've also updated the site aliases to point to the new location).

Now here's the problem which puzzles me: when I log out of the development site I get automatically logged out of the live version as well, and vice versa. Like the logging in/out was somehow shared between the two... :-0

I'm a bit afraid to proceed with modifications as I'm not sure what else can act strange. Anyone can help me out? BTW. I'm using Active Directory authentication normally (though the problem occurs also for "host" account).

DNN login functionality like most web sites is tied to cookies and domain name paths - what domain name are you using to the live and test sites.

Hi Wes, sorry it took me so long to reply but I was away for a week. Anyway what domain do you mean? The Active Directory domain? If so, I am using the same domain for both development and live version - do you think that's the problem?
