I  have a client who keeps getting tons of spammy trackback notifications and he wants them to stop.

I have deselected the "Send mail notification after comments and trackbacks are posted", but he is still getting trackback notification emails.  In desperation I have Disallowed all comments, turned off Trackback auto discovery and even turned off the Syndicate this blog option.

All of the notification emails look like this:

You have received a new trackback for your blog entry yumthat.com

Here the link Stories to the weblog.

I am using the DNN blog module v. 4.0.0 on DNN v. 5.06.02

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Spambots kill what would have been a cool feature :(

Are the new trackbacks emails still for an existing blogpost? You may need to check that particular post.

Other than that; not sure.

Thanks, I didn't think to check the individual posts. The blog owner has been leaving the "Allow users to comment on this entry (overrides Blog Setting)" checked on every entry, so they were getting notification even though comments and trackbacks and notifications are disabled in the blog settings.
