Hi guys, I am a little puzzled about security roles. In my specific case, I need to be able to remove a user from a role and assign them to a different role. Lets say the roles are Role1 and Role2. When I try removing a user from Role1, I get a message - You cannot remove Administrator or Registered Users role.

 Please advise and thanks in advance!

Hi

Are you trying to remove a role other than Administrator or Registered Users , because Registered Users is a default role that associated with each dnn users that can't be removed.

Hi, thanks for your reply! I have a custom set of roles on the site i.e. Role1, Role2, Role3 etc. So when I try to remove Role1 from a user, I get the error mentioned above.

 Could this be because my custom roles are somehow tied to the Registered Users role ? And if so what should I do ?

Hi

It should not throw any error while removing one custom role from an user. Which dnn version are you using?

I thought I was going crazy for thinking you should be able to remove custom roles from users with no problems... lol

We are using a DNN 7.0.3 install.
