Hi,
I have set up a few events with notifications set to on.  When schedule the event notifications to run, i get the following error

DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.EventNotification, DotNetNuke.Modules.Events
Event Notification failed.System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Do i need to add the calender module to the object dependancies in the event schedule?

Cheers
John

I have checked my SMTP settings at "Host>>Host Settings>>Advanced Settings>>SMTP Server Settings" and they are ok.  I used the Test Button and managed to get a test SMPT email.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I'm trying to hunt down a workaround for this issue as well.

The issue is with the call to get the PortalSettings.  When running the scheduler, you are running outside of the HttpContext for a DNN Portal (Scheduler is under the Host settings and so would affect all Portals).  Since GetCurrentPortalSettings looks in the HttpContext to get that object, and since there is no HttpContext, the call returns Null.

SMTP is correctly set and it sends emails.

Any progress on this? Worrkarround, patch?

Goran
