Hi,

I am testing a script to move the CMS data from all of my DNN tables to another database. This database exists already so I can't just backup and restore. I did an "Import Data" of all of the DNN tables and data to my new database and then ran a script to add all of the stored procedures, views, functions and roles. All of this works fine but when I point my web.config to this new database (on the same server as my existing one), I get the DotNetNuke Installation page. Does anyone know what triggers this? I should have all of the data from my previous installation which works fine but after a data transfer, it doesn't seem to know that DNN is installed on this database.

Thanks

Maybe I should clarify. I have created a script for all of my DNN tables and aspnet tables for the membership section. This script includes Views, Functions, Stored procedures and Roles. I then needed to create a permissions script for all of the stored procedures. After all of this, I try running my site, it goes directly to the /Install/InstallWizard.aspx and I get this error:

System.InvalidOperationException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached. at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.GetConnection(DbConnection owningConnection) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionClosed.OpenConnection(DbConnection outerConnection, DbConnectionFactory connectionFactory) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.Open() at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, CommandType commandType, String commandText, SqlParameter[] commandParameters) at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.GetDatabaseVersion() at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.GetVersion() at DotNetNuke.Services.Install.InstallWizard.get_DatabaseVersion() in c:\Client\Projects\NAFTA\dnndev\NAFTA\Install\InstallWizard.aspx.cs:line 123 at DotNetNuke.Services.Install.InstallWizard.TestDataBaseInstalled() in c:\Client\Projects\NAFTA\dnndev\NAFTA\Install\InstallWizard.aspx.cs:line 1391 at DotNetNuke.Services.Install.InstallWizard.Initialise() in c:\Client\Projects\NAFTA\dnndev\NAFTA\Install\InstallWizard.aspx.cs:line 781 at DotNetNuke.Services.Install.InstallWizard.OnLoad(EventArgs e) in c:\Client\Projects\NAFTA\dnndev\NAFTA\Install\InstallWizard.aspx.cs:line 1601 at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

What am I missing here?

This sort of error is related to dnn not being able to get a proper connection to the database - because the pool of access connections have been used up.

Didn't need to. The site is running locally...just the database has changed.
