I'm new to DNN, and I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust the size of the Login module I have. I'm running DNN version 7.0.0.5. The module is in the left hand pane of my skin, and it stretches my panel halfway through the page.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Your log in module may be using the hardcoded value in pixels for the width property of various fields. There may be one solution in which you can change the hardcoded pixel value to the percentage values, so that the size of module will get adjusted according to the size of pane.

Thanks,

You may do that in the underlying stylesheet, or use portal.css to override the style definition.

Use Firebug, Developer Toolbar or whatever tool your browser offers to find out the style classes you have to change.

If you use Avinash's solution (in the case the size is really hardcoded in the ascx file, what I don't believe), take care after an upgrade as the values may be overwritten and you have to apply them again.

Best wishes

Thanks you for the reply. You said that I can overwrite the sizing in the portal file? When I look at the coding, it seems that something is overriding the values of the module. There is a strike-through over all the settings it seems. Is there a skin file I need to edit?

Hi,

yes, this could be a skin file as well (that is what I meant when I said "underlying style sheet"). If you change something in the skin as well, then you should better work on a copy of the skin (if it is a standard skin) or - in case of a custom skin - contact the skinners to do the changes for you.

Another way is to use the "!important" flag in your portal.css to avoid other style sheets overriding your definition.

Best wishes
Michael
