I just upgraded to DNN 6.2.7.  Without opening the Pandora's box of anger I have trying to get the layer stacking issue (z-index) fixed, I'm now onto another problem.

We use DNN for our internal intranet.  Our company forces everyone to use IE 8 at the moment.  On the flyout menus for managing the individual modules, all of the links are dead, there are no urls behind them in IE8.  Everything looks and works perfectly in Firefox but that is not our official browser, I need to make it work correctly in IE8.

I am testing using the Dark Knight skin, as the skin we have for our home page is completely hosed after the upgrade.  (Yes, I am working on a test box.)  I have been through days and days of clicking on google links, tried every fix I could find that people suggested and my boss is losing his patience.  I've switched back and forth between compatibility mode and that does nothing for this problem.

What is the problem, how can I fix this?

This is the post I posted yesterday but the message body did not post.

My problem is that all the links are dead in the Edit (Manage) menus in IE8. Our company forces everyone to use IE8 so I have to make this work. The menus work fine in FireFox. I've been through days of clicking on Google links trying to fix this. I've switched back and forth from compatibility mode, which does nothing. This is an upgrade to 6.2.7. Can anyone please offer any suggestions?

You have to add a X-UA- Compatible Tag to your site.

In a domain-controlled environment I'm finding that the compatibility mode is triggered on certain clients (winXP/Win7, IE8/IE9) even when we are providing a X-UA tags, a !DOCTYPE definition and "IE=Edge" response headers. These clients have the "display intranet sites in compatibility view" checkbox ticked. Which is precisely what I'm trying to override.

The following is the documentation that I've used to try understand how IE decides to actually trigger the compatibility mode.
