Hi guys

Recently, the database size grow tremendously (12GB)

but when i shrink the database, size decrease to original size (130MB)

in the log viewer mostly receive the following exception:

Mohammad,

things like this (as you described in the first part of your post) happen when there are huge bulk inserts to the database. I wonder if this is the case, you should inspect that with SQL Profiler or a similar tool.

On the other hand there are some tables that often cause db growing issues, and normally they can be truncated without any problems:

  • ScheduleHistory, SiteLog and EventLog - see here
  • Search - see this script
