Hi, this is our first site with DNN 7 so none of us really have much knowledge of settings for performance issues.

WE are really having some very slow load up speeds but the worst situation is when in admin mode and editing modules to upload docs or embed video into gallerys etc, the app just times out. As a local government service we cannot expect our third party clients to accept this so any help at all will be gratefully recieved.

Can any one suggest some tweaks to help with performance, I have also pasted the scheduler settings if any one can point out any changes to make.

For shared hosting you can use free keep alive service, for example nitroconnection.net
It keeps your site in fast server cache memory thereby incereases the speed of loading.

What does Task Manager show on the server during these long responses? Is it heavy CPU activity? Does the server have plenty of memory and CPU power?

It's well known that ASP.Net applications have a noticeable start up overhead. Once started does it get quicker?

Best wishes,

Hi,I have not yet checked the task manager on our server but I will do so.
However, I was able to get the site working pretty quick by following an article by mitchel sellars.
I think the event log may be an issue as I notice it took 30-40 secs to load again this morning.
Mitchel recommends creating an SQL scheduled job to clear the events log nightly? is this a good idea?.

I assume the keep alive service mentioned or snapsis pageblaster can help with load speed but which route to take??. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what will give the best performance.

As explained in an earlier thread we are a local goverment IT dept who are evaluating the community edition of DNN for a third party sector client, but we are also evaluating if DNN can replace our commercial CMS so we really need fast efficient performance to allow online payments and services.
