The website I manage uses DotNetNuke 5.5.1. Since a few weeks ago, editing pages has become painstakingly slow. Browsing the website and using the Host or Admin editing features works just fine. However, if I try to edit the text on a page, it takes forever to load the editor and then takes forever to save the page once I'm done. A quick edit that used to take me 30 seconds at the most, now takes at least a few minutes and it's killing my productivity.

Any ideas? Is it a server issue that I should talk to my hosting provider about or is there something on my end?

Let me know if you need anymore information. Thank you!

Chris

Did you ever find a solution to this. We are having the same or similar issue. Just upgraded from DNN 7.00.05 to 7.01.02 to see if it fixed the issue but it did not.

Thanks
Lee

Yes and no. I actually ended up moving to a different location within my company and the issue disappeared. I brought my desktop over, so the only variable that changed was the internet connection. Whether or not it was coincidence, I don't know. I just find it strange that it started out of the blue and only affected 1 of 2 nearly identical DNN sites I manage for the company. I wish I had better information for you. Good luck!

Check size of your database transaction log - a large log file may slow down database performance.
Besides, make sure, Eventlog and ScheduleHistory tables don't hold more than a few hundred items.

Just after most post above we seemed to resolve our issue and now performance seems to be fine.

I did "shrink" our db in addition to several of the steps in the links below. Not sure what exactly did the trick though:
