I have a 4.8.2 dnn instance with 400+ child portals.

I am trying to upgrade following the recommend upgrade path http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Suggested_Upgrade_Path.aspx
which suggests 4.9.5 as the next version. I have tried mitchel sellers recommend methods for going to 4.9.5 as well as attempt to go to 4.8.4.

After three minutes all fail with the same error "thread was being aborted". I have tried upgrade following at least six other methods (removing dlls, portals from directories etc) and all fail with same message.

Sql updates run witin ten seconds but module updates never make it past the second or third module upgrade. prior to error messge.

The answer to this was to add shutdownTimeout="1800" to the httpruntime in web.config
