Hi,

We noticed on our site there is a viewstate with lots and lots of characters. (Please see line 101 on page source of acceleratingitsuccess.org) Why is this there? How can we avoid it? If we can’t avoid it, is there anyway to not showing it in the page source. Would it affect the site performance?

From our research, we found that the view state can be turned on/off from Host>Host Settings>Advanced Settings>Performance Settings, and selecting Memory on Page State Persistence field. However, as noted in the field setting, updating the value to Memory may affect the AJAX functions. AJAX is used by many other modules that we are currently using on the site. Also, as this is a Host settings change, it will affect the entire DNN setup including all portals hosted by the DNN.

Any suggestions on this issue?

Thank you,

Sushan

be carefull which modules you use, and if you build them yourself, turn off viewstate at control level
