I noticed that the required fields are not marked with an * . Is there something I need to do to get these to show up?  Otherwise, I love the this module.  Thank you for all of your hard work  on this module and the updates!

Hi Judy,

I assume you are using DNN 7.x? How fields are marked as required changed with DNN 7. We are updating to meet the new requirements in the next release (6.1.2 I think it will be).

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger

I installed Feedback 6.4.1 in my DNN 7.0.5 and first, the required fields were marked with a red bar (I think). Somehow I lost the red bars while configuring the module, but I'm not sure, when it happened (maybe when I inserted a header-text?).
For a while, when I was logged in (only as host or admin), the required fields in the contact-information section were marked, but the ones in the message section weren't.
Now I lost all the red bars while trying to find the error :-(

In addition, I'm not able to edit my defined subjects any more and the dropdown list is diseabled. (I deleted the module and inserted a new one, but the defined subjects remained)

Any idea?

Cheers
Katharina

P.S.: I translated the module fields I need, but I think that shouldn't matter...

Hi Katharina,

DNN 7 has changed the default way that Required fields are marked, they would now be marked with a red * next to field name. I think you could write all your own CSS to implement the DNN 6 way, but you may not wish to go that far.

Unfortunately, the change in the DNN core requires a change in the module, which I haven't implemented yet. I'll see if I can get it included into the next 6.4.2 beta.

I'll investigate your subjects issue, but not sure a DNN 7 upgrade would cause that. I assume you have the dropdown enabled in the settings? You say you can't edit them, why is that, does the dialogue not display anymore?

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger,

Sometimes I have to sleep about... ;-)

The Problem was, that I deleted the module and reinstalled a new one. Unfortunately, the subjects I defined for the first form remained in the database (FeedbackList table) an with the new module I could see them but was not able to change something. I even wasn't able to choose the dropdown in the Settings.
The solution was to delete the four subjects I defined before directly in the database. Then I defined it again (in the module, not in the database) and now it works fine.

A really simple solution to mark the required fields: I have to translate the fieldnames anyway, so I will translate them with a *, for example Street: will be translated as * Strasse:

Thanks for your help and have a nice day
Katharina
