I think you maybe over thinking the issue.

Ignore the resx, create the user then use userinfo to get the required fields.

On a personal note, if your thinking about sending a password in email then I personally would reconsider as this is frowned upon nowadays.

I know the code I uploaded a year ago has been tweeked and no idea about the floating point issue but in principle still works and include the SendEmail(your right but I am old school) after the user is created

I don't expect that the "hi new user, this is your password" message can be retrieved via the userinfo.
An other source told me to look into the source how the gui sends the e-mail. He thought there is an api call for sending the e-mail.
So I'll be looking into the source, I'll post my findings here.

I know sending the password is a bad thing to do, but in my case the account is created by an external system. There is no interaction with the user before creating the account. So I'll have to send a random initial password and force a password change on first login (and hope dnn doesn't send an e-mail with the new password)
The other option would be to send the password via regular mail ;)

Or, using the built-in DNN Newsletter (you can use tokens here as well), you can put in the link to the "Reset Password" (the one that you see in the DNN Login Page)...
In DNN 07.01.00 it is something like http://yourdomain.com/Home/ctl/SendPassword ....
