Hi Everyone,
MassDOT (Massachusetts Department of Transportation) has just posted a full-time contractor position for a DNN developer. 

Summary of job:  

MassDOT is seeking a VB.NET and C# ASP.NET Web Developer with experience in DotNetNuke. 

The Web Developer’s role includes designing, building, and implementing new Web pages and sites; integrating sites with back end applications; migrating legacy applications to the Web; and performing day-to-day administration of the organization’s Web portfolio. Use of a variety of Web development languages is required.

Required skills:

  • Knowledge of SQL, ASP.NET, VB.NET and C#. 
  • Experience working with DotNetNuke, including creating DNN modules and converting ASP.NET pages to DotNetNuke modules. 
  • Experience using and integrating existing 3rd party DNN modules. 
  • Experience building and maintaining Website maps using Google Maps APIs, with a focus on integrating different data sources and live databases. 
  • Experience working with T-SQL (including the development of stored procedures, views and triggers) 
  • Experience in performing thorough functional, systems, and regression testing of application changes. 
  • Working experience with Internet Information Server (IIS), Enterprise Development including.Net, XML, Web Services, WCF and Microsoft Windows operating systems. 
  • Experience in writing technical documentation for new and enhanced applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to understand high-level business requirements and work with team members to identify obstacles, find solutions and provide excellent customer service.

Preferred:

  • Installation and maintenance of DNN on web server 
  • Experience with DNN in a Web Farm environment 
  • Experience with front end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and AJAX 
  • 3+ years of experience in ASP.NET programming in VB and C#. 
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL Server 2008 R2. 
  • Strong knowledge of database development. 
  • Strong knowledge of browser compatibility issues, DOM, architectures and libraries 
  • Experience with Web Accessibility Compliance 
  • Thorough understanding of application development methodologies. 
  • Comprehensive experience with structuring, developing, and implementing interactive corporate Web sites. 
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements.

Daily tasks & activities:

  • Development of DNN modules 
  • Conversion of ASP.NET functionality to DNN modules 
  • Maintenance of existing pages and DNN modules 
  • DNN administration 
  • Providing technical estimates to requirements
