Hello,

In DNN 6.2.7
- register same username with same pasword on different portals.  Allowed.  Same user ID.
- register same usename with different password on different portals.  NOT Allowed.

I would like to have this behavior in my site - the ability to register same usename with different password on different portals.

Does anyone know how to enable this?

Thanks,
Kanchan

You would have to do a few plumbing changes on how DotNetNuke fetches users from the database. Because username is no longer unique per installation you would have to modify the secondary key on the users table IX_Users.

Furthermore you will have to modify the link between the aspnet membership tables and the dnn users table. Again because the tables are joined by the now non-unique username. You could migrate the aspnet userid into the DNNuser table in order to get a unique value.

But in either case you're looking at a bit of work in the C# code as well as in SQL.
