Hi there

I'm new to DNN and we are currently trying it out to see what its like.

We are using the DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication 5.0.2 and having some issues. I have had to use the 127.0.0.1 trick in order for it to save the domain and domain mail settings but the issue we have now is first time login of an AD user is fine but if i log out and try to log back in with the same AD user account we get  "A critical error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred" error message.

Any help with this will be gratefully recived

What version of DNN are you running? What Server OS is it installed on?

Hi there.

we are using DNN 7.1.0 and now upgraded to the DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication to 5.0.5 still the same issue.

Its installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server

I didn't read the Posts before, but did you realized that the AD Provider needed SSL ?  Do you use a certificate for the site?

this is/was the typical behavior of the issue with the password retrival. If you log in and check the logs you can see a detailed error message which is saying that the password retrival is not supported. See here for further information. Maybe it's the same issue.
