Seems to be some hurdles in using an office365 email for the smtp settings under host for dnn 7.1 community edition.

IIS 8 no longer supports smtp so I followed the direction on an MS help doc and installed IIS6 on the server and followed the directions to allow relay. So now I have IIS8 for the dnn site and IIS 6 for the smtp services. I tested the smtp connection and got the message that the test email was successfully sent.

Unfortunately, email was not delivered.  Any suggestions for how to diagnose the problem and fix it?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

I think Office365 did not Support relaying, or Need Addition Settings in the Administration.

If DNN successfull sends the message and didn't get a error reply from the SMTP Server, it could be that the email was blocked about the SMTP Port is not open on the Firewall for external Connection. An other issue could be the email was filtered as SPAM from the recievers Mail Server, or was send ito the junk Folder.
