I was looking at various information Google webmasters tools (https://www.google.com/webmasters) has about our website (onlien for a number of years), and came across this message in the Crawl/URL Parameters section:
"here is a list of parameters that appear not to change the content of your pages. Google will ignore these":
guid mid portalid tabid

Well I know that these parameters do change content.

Has anybody noticed the same issue on their DNN site?

It is possible to configure Google bot to treat these parameters as affecting content. I think this is what I should do, otherwise some pages get omitted by google bot I suspect. What do you think?

Also, google reports total number of URLs that are monitored on the site for this parameter and they are quite high. We do not have that many pages or links on our webiste.

tabid 404
link 377
mid 323

Looks wacky to me.
Any insights are appreciated.

Thanks!

which DNN version and URL format are you using? If you are using latest DNN, TabId and PortalId are not required, because the page url already contains this information.

Thanks Sebastian, the version is 06.02.06 (10)
We do have trackable links to internal pages such as /LinkClick.aspx?link=74&tabid=36&mid=464 , maybe this is how google found these parameters.
Should we use a different syntax? Please advise
Thanks!
