I recently upgraded my site to DNN 7.1.1 from 7.0.5. I also copied files when switching my staging and live site and reapplied permissions to the file system as per the install docs.

However, on certain actions I get this pop up windows (looks like IIS) -  I can't get past it and it.

Strangely: When logged in as Host remotely I get this when I try to MOVE a module to a different pane, but when I log in as HOST directly on the server it works. However changing the profile pic as Host on the server does not work.

I have applied the Everyone role on the filesystem with ALL permissions and set them to be inherited and checked the lower folders - permissions seem to be fine. Everything else works on the site (e.g. I can upload documents in the journal, but I can't change the profile pic).

I have tried Chrome (V28) and IE and it's the same result. I tried the 2 web-config methods suggested in this post but no change.

Any help appreciated.

most likely there are Windows file system permissions missing for IIS anonymous web users

Hi All,

I have a theory as to why this is happening:

1) Set Site Setting to Verified
2) Set Valid Profile Required on Registration
3) Set the Profile Image to be required.
4) Create a new user (they will NOT be in the Registered role)
5) You cannot get past the edit profile screen as changing the image challenges with "Authentication Required" (I have added Everyone with full rights)

I THINK this may be because the WebAPI services are authenticating on Role (Registered).

Can someone please set this up as my site is currently unusable and I need to prove if it is this or not.
