Hi All,

 I am relatively new to DotNetNuke but have been working as ASP.NET developer for a while now.

 I am trying to install dnn 7.1.1 on Windows 2008 Server with SQL 2008 R2. As soon as I finish installing the site and navigate to the site, I see the splash screen with 404 - File or directory not found but in the backgroud I can see the default page displaying correctly. If I manually enter another address in the URL text box and try to navigae such as http://www.mydomain.com/About-Us gives me 404 again.

I have tried to look for solutions in this forum and found this Ver 7.1: 404 - Not found "Getting-Started" post which seems to be in-conclusive at the moment with no resolution. I have tried making a post to this post but it seems that it will be some time before the post will be available for others to see as it is moderated so I decided to create a new thread.

 Basically, I have tried deleting and re-installing the site a few times with an IP address as the host name, a proper domain name and www.dnndev.me but all with the same outcome.

It is interesting to note here that I was able to create the site on my dev environment (windows 7 pc, SQL2008) as www.dnndev.me and seems to work fine.

 Any help in this regard will be much appreciated.

Ok, have this solved on IIS7.

Issue is in the web config the

 <system.webserver>
    </system.webserver>

This fixes:

• 404 on the get started page
• 404 on all pages other than the homepage

Ok found the answer eventually in one of your other posts. Just in case someone needs the solution I quote your other post:

Issue is in the web config the <modules tag needs to be changed to the following:

 <system.webServer>

    <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true">
