Well - even if DNN were to agree today that this was a great feature and should be implemented - it would be a long time before you could use it and even longer before you could rely on it.

I think it will be quicker for you if you modify your control to work with dynamic ID's. If you have some specific issues with doing that, I'm sure there are people here who can offer ideas.

Second best is to put in a check, like Sebastian suggested, to block a second instance.

@Sebastian, i also thought of adding this restriction to be set on module settings. But when i think of checking this validation out of the scope of my module, i find it not feasible.
But any help on this type of restriction outside of the module, is appreciated.
