Hi, we are planning to rebuild our local government website in DNN and we have used the community edition to build a pilot site for testing purposes.
One thing we cannot understand is how we can have additional menus in a left sidebar that show related content from a selection of the main menu.
For example if you choose Refuse bins, then on this section you would expect to find a menu with related links.
All this needs to set up so that whenever a new page is created by the content editors it automattically appears in its related section. This is acommon scenario in education and similar sites so it must be possible in DNN? but how best to do it.

you may use 2 menus restricted to specific levels, e.g. the top menu showing level 1 only and a vertical menu showing level 2 (and up).
Common menu components support level selection.

Sebastian, do I install a module to have a second menu? or do I put the second menu directly into the skin.

Any particular menu module I should use.

I need a responsive option

Cheers Stuart

In the settings of the menu you can specify at which level that menu should start, hom many level deep and even which specific nodes to include or exclude.

For example
Node selection expression: *,0,1
will display all nodex starting at the root node (*), skip 0 levels and display 1 lever deep. (so that's basically the main pages and their subpages.

from http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/loc/print/Page/DDRMenu-user-guide :
NodeSelector="RootOnly" to show only the root level menu items (alias for *,0,0)
NodeSelector="RootChildren" to show all the children of the root menu item that is the parent of the current page (alias for +0)
NodeSelector="CurrentChildren" to show the children of the current page (alias for .)
