Hi Sebastian,

 I got kicked off the server I was using as someone else needs it now. So I started from scratch on a Windows Server 2008 machine with SQL 2008. The website is set up in IIS and is on the internet etc. On the older software the install runs to 100% no problem so that's an improvement! BUT I end up with the "Server Error 404 File or directory not found" pop up window error that is mentioned in forum post http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/forumid/107/threadid/488398/scope/posts/threadpage/5 I ran the install as per the DNN 7.0 install videos http://www.dnnsoftware.com/Community/Learn/Video-Library/View-Video/Video/518/View/Details/DNN-7-0-Installation-Part-4-Installation-Wizard but I created the folder in C:\websites\media-etc.co.za along the lines you suggested.

 I fixed the 404 error as per http://www.dnnsoftware.com/answers/cid/419899/?page=1

 

Open up the web.config file.
Search for DNNFriendlyUrl
Change urlFormat="advanced" to urlFormat="humanFriendly"

 

The Extensions Tab under Hosts is now populated and I can see existing extensions and upload new extensions etc. So I'm ready to start building our test site at last!
