Good afternoon,

I have been working on friendly urls for a certain part of my site for most of the day and that is going fine.  However, I cannot apply the same patterns used for the pages on my site to documents saved to the portal.  It appears that I am forced to use the www.domain.com/PORTALS/X/FOLDER/FILENAME pattern.  I've been searching around without luck to find an answer on this.  Is it even possible to link directly to files without including the Portals/PortalNum (ie www.domain.com/Folder/Filename) in the URL?  My stakeholders are pretty picky about this stuff and won't be thrilled with having the portal number listed in the URL we give out to users.

I figure there's some configuration somewhere I can change to make this happen, but I haven't found it yet.  Any help would be appreciated.

Jason,
I don't think this will be possible, since the links are the actual physical path to the files...unlike pages that virtually exist and are created at runtime by the ASP.Net code.
Someone smarter than me might have a different solution.

file links (or precisely: those, that don't use linkclick.aspx) are not handled by DNN but by IIS itself. you would need to perform URLrewriting on IIS level, see http://www.iis.net/learn/extensions/url-rewrite-module
