Hi, we use windows xp on our office machines which is preventing us from installing DNN7 to develop modules against, so we are hoping to use a windows virtual server and install DNN and VS on there.

My questions are:
we would like to use the new DAL2 templates, but as our VS Version is 2010 can we use VSExpress 2012.
Is there a good book or series of tutortials we can use to start the ball rolling, all our attempts at using the 2010 templates have not been  overy successful with errors about virtual applications setup when creating new projects  or no package files been created when compling in release mode.
Most of the tutorials we have found are for earlier versions so not always relevant for DNN7.

Any help or advice as to setting up our moudle dev set up would be appreciated.

Many thanks Sunil. but I have a problem
I was able to use the blog and videos to setup DNN 7.0 and VS2012 express on a windows 2008 server.
I installed the DAL2 templates from the codeplex visx as instructed when we try to create a new project in C:\websites\dnndev.me\desktopmodules\ we get an error mesage saying:

the project xxx is configured to use IIS, the web server.
http://dnndev.me/desktopmodules/xxx cannot be found

Any ideas??

Stuart

Yes that seems to have worked, at least the project has created.

I do have an issue now with the dnn site, it open the home page on dnndev.me, but other pages are wanting a server login prompt and are still referencing www.dnndev.me
